Project Description

Berschauer Group built this new fire house for Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue. Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue is an all hazards emergency response department located in Kelso, Washington. It is the largest fire district in Cowlitz Country, with four stations and a first due area of over 150 sq. miles and a population of approximately 34,000. It serves the City of Kelso and the unincorporated areas around the City of Longview.

The department is also home to the technical education program for high school juniors and seniors, which currently has students from 9 area high schools.

The new 8,825 sf station replaces an existing station. New station includes workspace and living accommodations for up to 6 firefighters. Apparatus space is provided for up to six emergency response vehicles. This fire station has a small meeting room planned for staff use and occasional public use.
